1916 Meccano & Gilbert: Antique Catalogs & Toy Parts
Meccano Catalog Book No.1 (1916) - No.16, 136 page original soft cover catalog, complete with front and back covers, complete with all 136 pages. Book No.1 (1st American Edition), 9½" x 6½". Parts list, project lists, price list. Terrific cover showing two boys assembling a high wing monoplane. Light green and beige covers. Awesome catalog with too much to list so I've shown several key pages below. Recently found in an old filing cabinet. Gilbert Fun With Chemistry Catalog (1956) 94 pages, VG+ to excellent with some back cover soiling and stains, three tiny scuffs on front cover. Gilbert Fun With The Microscope Catalog (1938) - 113 pages plus eight blank note pages. Excellent and complete. Gilbert Adventures in Science Catalog (1958) - full color comic book style booklet, coupon on back cover has been cut out (see photo). Gilbert glass alcohol lamp - includes cork stopper, complete cotton wick, and metal wick holder. Full label. End of wick looks like it was used once.
